Short Biography
Ruben van Klaveren was born April 5th 1977 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In 2010 he graduated from the Dutch Art Institute, where he obtained his Master Fine Art,
in 2007 he graduated from the academy of fine arts of Utrecht where he obtained his Bachelor Fine Art,
with honors, he specialized in Digital Media.
In 2006 he graduated from the Amsterdam Academy of Fine Art where he obtained his Bachelor Fine Art
in Education, he specialized in New Media, which allows him to teach students of all ages.
He investigated the quality level of art education on high schools in his province Flevoland in 2006.
Ruben taught students between the ages of 4 to 18, including mentally challenged students.
From 2009 to 2011 he worked at the office of the Mondriaan Foundation. He participated in workshops,
classes, presentations in Turkey, Great Britain, Armenia, Spain, Poland, Greece and his native country.
His main subjects are visual and auditive symbols, in relation to the creation of meaning, which encompass,
but are not limited to: myth, dream, archetypes and mundane communication found in ancient and
contemporary culture. The media he uses to present his art works are: video, soundscapes, digital
photography, drawing and multi-media installations.
